Hey i am having huge issues with a "light switch" I have installed into a church. I have over 300DMX channels of LED's, and when ever I connect light switch they all start strobing. I think that it is something to do with the RMD signal is there anyway to filter it out?? So my LED's either stop getting getting 0 values or the DMX dropping out while it talks RMD.

Any help from anyone would be much appriciated

Thanks

Sam

Hi, It appears that some of your LED fixtures may not be RDM compatible. If you make sure that no fixture has a start address below 32 the problem will likely go away.

This is a common fix for fixtures that are not RDM compatible.

Well that can't be it, because all the LED's are all dialed over 100 up tp 432, any other ideas???

Are you programming in spreadsheet or using faders? Make sure when you want a fitting turned off you have it set to 0 and not OFF

I am only using static scenes, So i am recording using the DMX in function when Dip switch 5 is turned on, sending it signal for our Hog 1000 and recording it

It sounds to me that the fixtures are getting confused by the fact that when an RDM message is sent it generally doesn't use all 512 channels and then confuses non compilant fixtures.

We do a product that re-times, re-transmits and strips all non-zero start code packets from DMX and sends 512 channels every packet, that should sort out your problem. It is called DMX-Fix
