Hello,

I am new to Art-net (but knows all of TCP/IP), and try to get an Art-lynx working. With DMX workshop on a PC using the 10.x.x.x net I was in able to change the IP of Art-Lynx to 192.168.1.74 with mask 255.255.255.0.

Changed the PC setting back to normal DHCP, rebooted Art-Lynx, and it was found, but I can not right clicking to change anything, as it states: "The node is set to a network ID which is not accessable from this computer. Must set all switches to F"

Observations:
1. The Art-Lynx sends it's ArtPollReply to 192.255.255.255 which is wrong (uses the 10.x.x.x mask?).
2. I can send DMX data to the Art-Linx, the green DMX LED is on, but did not checked the data.

Question:
How do I get the thing working correctly, so I can change the IP and other properties?

What does the error message means (I could not find a manual for DMX workshop)?

F.

Hi,

The way to do it is to remove all jumpers. Set your PC local area connection IP address to something in the 2.x.x.x range. Start DMX-Workshop. Find your Art-Lynx in the Table of Devices. Right click to configure the Art-Lynx IP address to something in the 192.168.0.x range. Close DMX-Workshop. Set your local area connection IP address to something in the 192.168.0.x range. Re-start DMX-Workshop. You should now be able to see your Art-Lynx in DMX-Workshop with the new IP address.

Tim,

Your answer is what I did, as I posted, but not on 2.x.x.x as that's an Internet IP range. So again, I -have- the box on 192.168.1.74, and it receives DMX, but...

The network status shows a forbitten sign with exclamation mark, and right click gives the message "The node is set to a network ID which is not accessable from this computer. Must set all switches to F". So I can not change any of the properties when on a normal IP?

BTW I also have an Enttec ODE on 192.168.1.47, which shows up correctly with the blue output icon highlited.

I think it has to do with the wrong ArtPollreply to 192.255.255.255, instead to 192.168.1.255 (mask = 255.255.255.0). Is this a known bug?

Hi Fokko,

There is a fault in the way that the product is calculating the broadcast address. We will issue a firmware upgrade soon.

Tim,

Did I miss the update, or is it still pending?

Tim,

Thanks for the update, the Art-Lynx is now working correctly on a local C net (192.168.1.xxx, mask 255.255.255.0).
