Hi there!

today I got hold of a pair of "Net-Link" (input and output) for a very little money (in fact, I don't dare to tell the joke of a price I purchased them for) - makes me quite happy since I was always considering of getting some Art-Net Hardware for analsysis and spontaneous use on production :)

Unfortunately, I don't find any documentation on these :-(
I only find "Net Lynx" docs - are these probably compatible?

I already downloaded DMX Workshop but yet don't get it to work :-(
DW does not discover any devices - additionally, I can't alter the Output setting (Inactive/Dongle/ArtNet, always stays "inactive") in DW's "transmit".
(Maybe, it might be an issue that I'm using a Mac and Parallels Desktop).

Even in my terminal a "tcpdump -i en0" (where I plugged each device using an Xover cable) does not dump any packet which might be transmitted by these devices :(

Anyone w/ help here?

Thanks a lot in advance and greetings from rainy Switzerland!

Hello,

Nice to know that people re-sell these units rather than throwing them away!!!!

Net-Link and Net-Lynx are the same product apart from the spelling. So if you require documentation please download the Net-Lynx manual from the web.

Have you set the correct IP address on your computer?? Should be in the 2.x.x.x range. If there is no dongle or Art-Net devices present DMX-Workshop does not allow you to send data, that is why you can't alter the output setting.

Does the yellow comms light illuminate on the Net-Link?? If so you are getting data through.

Thanks

Simon

Hi Simon!

Finally, I managed it - there was sort of an operator error - i.e. misconfiguration of my VM running Windows 0:-)

They both work fine and I'm satisfied.

Now, I just wanted to upgrade the firmware, but DW tells me that the firmware files I downloaded (for Net-Lynx Input and Output) are not valid for the devices I have :-(

The I/P device is S/N 0056 and the O/P is S/N 0061 - so I've caught some really early ones :-)
Are there compatible Firmware files or do I have to keep V1.00 ?

Thanks again!

Hi,

If you could send me an email (simon@artisticlicence.com) I will send you the latest firmware file for those units.

Thanks

Simon
